Piedmont Hills Club
Club Rules

1. The main gate must be closed at all times. All members have keys and they should use them. If they don’t have a key, they aren’t members.

2. A membership covers a single household, and includes only those people residing at the address on the membership.

3. The lifeguard has full authority at all times and may require anyone to leave the premises for infraction of the rules.

4. Running, shoving swimmers in the pool, improper use of equipment and use of obscene language is prohibited.

5. A charge of $2.00 per swimming guest will be payable on arrival to the lifeguard on duty. Each guest is also asked to register with the lifeguard. A guest may remain on the premises so long as the member is present. Out of town guests (house guests) will be charged a one-time fee of $10.00.

6. Children under six years of age will not be allowed on the premises unless accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times regardless of the presence of a lifeguard. The same rule applies to children over six years of age if they fail to pass a swimming test to the satisfaction of the lifeguard. All persons unable to swim well as determined by the lifeguard will be restricted to the shallow end of the pool. Remember, the lifeguard is not a babysitter, but is there for the protection of all swimmers.

7. Swimmers may have floating objects in the shallow half of the pool. Unaccompanied floating objects such as rafts, tubes, toy floats and life preservers are not allowed in the pool at anytime.

8. Only one person may use the diving board at any one time. No diving shall be allowed off the side of the board. Swimmers may not take equipment, fins, etc. onto the diving board.

9. Persons with skin ailments, inflamed eyes, colds, nasal or ear discharge, or any other condition which may pose a sanitation hazard will not be allowed in the pool.

10. Swimsuits only will be worn in the pool. Cut-offs and t-shirts are prohibited.

11. Proper sanitary precautions must be taken for every small child using the pool.

12. Absolutely no pets will be allowed on the premises.

13. The PUMPROOM and STOREROOM are OFF LIMITS at all times.

14. Glass containers of any kind are prohibited in all areas.

15. Portable radios are the only type of radios permitted in the pool area, and these will only be allowed at a pleasant volume. No amplified music will be allowed at anytime (unless by special arrangement). The prohibition on profanity applies to music as well.

16. Skateboarding, rollerblading or skating is not allowed in any area.

17. It is requested that the ladies and girls not wear bobby pins, hair clips or rollers during swimming. If these items should become detached they can cause serious damage to the pool filtration system.

18. Lifeguards will be on duty daily between the hours of 10 AM to 8 PM. Prior to 10AM or after 8PM adult members must accompany any minor using club facilities (pool, basketball or tennis courts). This is not only for the safety of our children but also for the protection of club property. In addition, a city ordinance requires an adult be present when minors are swimming if there is no lifeguard on duty. A minor is defined as anyone under the age of 18 years. Parents will be called if their children are at the pool after hours.

19. Any member is entitled to have parties for a fee and a deposit. A party is defined as 10 or more guests at any one time. Party reservations do not ever give exclusive use to the pool. The largest patio cover may be reserved but the remainder of the club should remain open to any member. The member making reservations must be present throughout the entire party to assure that safety rules are observed and that the grounds are completely cleaned including bathrooms. Lights must be extinguished before the club is vacated. Lights should be lowered and noise should cease after 10PM. Reservations for parties shall be made with Andrew Neal at 544-2034.
Party fees are $100, plus a refundable deposit of $50. Members may reduce the fee for a party to $50 by completing an approved maintenance or improvement project at the pool. Contact a member of the board of directors for more information.

All deposits are due at least 3 day in advance of the party. Please use 2 checks - one check for the party charge and one for the deposit.

Parties over 40 guests require two lifeguards, and the member will be charged $8/hour for the additional guard.

Damage deposits will be returned once the club property and furniture has been inspected the following day. We will require at least 3 days to return your deposit if everything is found to be satisfactory. The Board of Governors reserves the right to stop any party if they feel the rules are being abused.

20. This is a private club and we seek to foster a family friendly environment and a sense of community. Please feel free to be a committee of one to aid in the enforcement of the above rules and regulations. Please help keep our club private, safe and enjoyable.

21. Don’t forget to turn out the lights and check the gate.
